Mulberry House, Chelsea
A 4m deep basement under an existing 19th Century house in Chelsea has been excavated using top down construction designed by Crouch Waterfall. The ground floor structural slab has been cast under the existing walls which spans on to temporary bearing piles to support the house while the soil is excavated underneath. Contiguous piled walls support the highway and neighbouring gardens to the front and rear of the property.
Structural works are expected to be complete mid-2012.
