Michael Daburn – TMICE achievement

Michael Daburn, Senior Technician, recently undertook his professional workplace review at Buro Happold’s offices in Bath, Somerset for EngTech TMICE technician status with the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE). In this case it was a first for the ICE South West region who were piloting workplace reviews.

The process involved submitting academic certificates, details of work experience, records of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and Initial Professional Development (IPD), a work based project report (which in Michael’s case was on the £7M Chelsea River Bridge refurbishment), a five minute presentation on Chelsea and a forty five minute interview with two reviewers.

This is one of the key stages that Michael has set in his personal development, the next being completion of his BEng(Hons) bachelor’s degree in the Autumn of 2014.
